Mariner's Restaurant - Natchitoches, LA
Mariner's Seafood and Steakhouse
Mariner's Seafood and Steakhouse is located on the banks of Sibley Lake in Natchitoches, Louisiana and has been in this location for many years. The Sunday lunch buffet was my Dad's favorite and he went almost every weekend. Mariner's specialties include fresh seafood and heavy aged steaks with Cajun and Creole influences. Besides serving on Sunday for lunch and dinner, they are also open Monday through Saturday for dinner only.

Food and Service
The dress is casual and the food is delicious. Mariner's specializes in various seafood and steaks with a Cajun or Creole flair. A typical Sunday buffet may include: Carved Angus Roast, Tilapia Parmesan, Chicken Montreal, Pork Chops Supreme, Assorted Vegetables, Salad Bar and dessert. The food is well prepared and the wait staff (which draws from nearby Northwestern State University) is efficient and attentive. Prices are reasonable for the nice dining experience provided.
The setting, on the shores of Sibley Lake, is peaceful and, at night, romantic. For the bird lovers, Barn Swallows nest under the restaurant, a portion of which extends out over the water.

When only the BEST will do!

"Think romantic, fine-dining over Sibley Lake, eating a big juicy angus steak or grilled fresh fish and the best service ever and this is what you get at Mariner's. It only looks and tastes expensive. Unlike most fine-dining establishments that are alacarte, these people incude a trip to their huge salad bar and a side with your meal. If you don't go here, your really missing out! It's not just dinner, it's an EXPERIENCE."

It is also the home of Northwestern State University, which was originally established as a teachers' college, but is now a full university.
On the first Saturday in December, the annual Christmas light celebration begins. On this night, the sky is alive with fireworks and thousands of colored lights line Cane River Lake.
